Ingredients

  • neutral oil 5 tbsp
  • garlic 2 cloves
  • ginger/ ginger powder 1 tsp
  • broccoli 3 cups
  • Onion 1 medium
  • Sesame seeds To garnish
  • cornstarch 1.5 tbsp
  • water 3 tbsp
  • beef flank 1 lbs
  • Chicken powder 1 tsp
  • baking soda 1/4 tsp
  • light soy sauce 1 tsp
  • Teriyaki sauce 1 tsp
  • salt 1/2 tsp
  • sugar 1/2 tsp
  • dark soy sauce 1 tsp
  • sesame oil 1 tsp
  • white pepper 1/4 tsp

Preparation Instructions

1. Thinly slice the beef flank against the grain and marinate it with baking soda, light soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, salt, sugar, cornstarch, and oil. Let it marinate for 20 minutes. 2. Prepare the sauce by combining chicken powder, soy sauce,teriyaki sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper. 3. Mince the ginger and garlic, and blanch the broccoli in salted boiling water for 45 seconds. 4. In a hot wok, fry the onions and then beef in a single layer until it gets a nice sear. Add the broccoli and stir in the sauce. stir-fry for a few minutes. 5. Combine cornstarch and water to make a slurry, then add it to the wok to thicken. (Optional) 6. Stir until thickened, garnish with sesame seeds, and serve with hot rice.
